Idolatry is not only a statue. It is whatever owns your peace, your worship, your obedience — a person, a timeline, an image, a grip. Name the idol. Put God first.

You shall have no other gods before Me.

Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Those who pay regard to vain idols forsake their hope of steadfast love.

For they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
