# Marriage Covenant

## Under fire

- Covenant is not a contract of feelings. Lead by sacrifice.
- If separation exists, do not invent a new story. Stay true to what God still calls true.

## Prayer

Lord of the covenant, make me faithful. Amen.

## Truth

The husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, His body, and is Himself its Savior.

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word.

However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct.

She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again.

To the married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): the wife should not separate from her husband… and the husband should not divorce his wife.
