## Under fire

- Relax. Be present — listen, wait for responses, talk less; don’t form a reply while they are speaking.
- Don’t force the present or the future — that is control (often fear, not only fear). Exist in the moment; the future is unknown.
- When the urge hits: “This is the old hook.” Capture it to Christ. Next right thing in front of you.

## Prayer

Father, I release this grip. I am present under You. Amen.

## Truth

Forcing the present or the future is control — often fear, not always only fear. Presence is not control. Show up cleanly; do not manage the outcome. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
